General abonennement in Zermatt

Hello,
one of my friend once mentioned that users of GA can get quite far in Zermatt for free, he mentioned as high as 3000m with some cable car. I could not find anything usable on google, does anybody knows anything?
Or any similar 'free' ride in vicinity (ie Saas Fee) ?
Thank You

Not free, but cheap.

You get to Zermatt for free with the GA, then you can go return to Rothorn Paradise (3100m) for 21CHF, which really isn't bad. To go up Gornergrat costs 40 CHF return with GA, which is a little bit pricier, but also probably worth it if you're there.

I can see return ticket to Rothorn for 32.5 CHF, 21 is for journey up, no?

My mistake, you're correct. Still worth it though

Actually for 12 CHF you can go return to Sunnegga at 2,300m - if the conditions are good underfoot, just pay 8 CHF for the one-way ticket and wander down into Zermatt over the next hour or two from there,
