Tourist Travel Information

Hi,
My parents going to visit Switzerland in few days. They have Visitor's Visa. Their stay will be for 1 month. I want to plan several "one day" holiday tour for them.
There will be 8 People in the group in which, 2 people has "half fare card". Since for remaining 6 People, I would like to know,

1. Is there any Tourist Pass available to travel in Switzerland?
2. Is there any discount offer in ticket fare for group of people.
3. Is there any combined tour package available for 2-3 destination all together? (1 or 2 days tour)
3. Which option is good for travelling within country, 'to rent a car' or by 'Public transport' (Bus, Train, Tramp etc)
Thanks in Advance
ARTISHA

Re: Tourist Travel Information

There's the Swiss pass, but you would get accurate answers to your questions if you go directly to the tourism office. In Basel it is located in the Basel SBB station.

Re: Tourist Travel Information

Artisha, as you are already resident here, the cheaper option might be getting a Gemeinde Tageskarte. The drawback is that is fixed for a date non-refundable but good for the the whole of CH including some cross border stations ( good for low cost shopping and not personalised ).

The Tageskarte is also valid on Postauto tours ( now has free wifi onboard ).
