40th Inventions New Techniques & Products Exhibition - PALEXPO Apr 18 to 22

http://www.inventions-geneva.ch/cgi-...-visiteurs.php

A handsfree umbrella, parachutes for airplanes and other quirky inventions went on display Wednesday at the opening of the world's biggest fair for new gadgets. Even the ribbon-cutting was done by a humanoid robot.

A thousand inventions all had their debut in Geneva, including a robotic claw hand, a high-tech screen to play simulated golf and a ball designed to protect its user from electromagnetic waves generated by WiFi and other household devices.

Officials said 789 exhibitors from 46 countries and 60,000 visitors are expected at the fair, which runs until April 22.

Re: 40th Inventions New Techniques & Products Exhibition - PALEXPO Apr 18 to 22

I have always found this exhibition incredibly boring.

The organizers seem to go out of their way to make the exhibits as dull and lifeless as possible.

With proper planning and imagination and some visitor involvement/participation thrown in, the exhibition could be made to be much more interesting. Unfortunately, most stands consist of a few leaflets and a bored representative sitting on a chair.

I have attended three times now and I will not be going again.
