Driving roads around Basel

Does anyone know of any good places to take the car out for a spin around Basel?

What i am looking or are nice and bendy roads where you can have fun without going a million miles an hour.

The best i have found so far is a good hour's drive into France, up and down towards the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. There are some brilliant forest roads with little traffic and lots of sharp bends. On a clear day there also is a stunning view from the castle, so well worth a trip.

But in an hour and a half i could also be climbing the Alps...

There are many options an hour or two away, but i'm thinking there must be something around Basel that makes it possible to go for a nice drive without wasting hours on a boring motorway gettng there and back?

Any suggestions?

There are lots of nice routes down towards, in and over the Jura. Head south towards Laufen and just let the roads take you wherever they go - all ways are good ;-)

Re: Driving roads around Basel

The other week, I drove from Blotzheim (where i live) to Delemont in Switzerland, but we took the country roads via Ferrette etc, past Ferrette, it got really quite hilly and bendy, quite picturesque. I would recommend that.

Also look at the Vosges mountains, some nice roads around there and its not too far, just beyond Guebwiller /Thann etc...
