New Year Alone - What to do?

Hello

I find myself alone and child free this new year. I have a rare 4 days to myself and I need to "get away". Bit stuck for ideas.

If I remain alone, then I need something super relaxing to get over all the stress of the year.....Don't really want to do a city break on my own. Any recommendations for Spa's, hotels or retreats? within a 3/4 hour drive Basel maximum

or I am open to doing a course in English, either in Germany, Switzerland, France or Norther Italy or something else really interesting for a few days, meet some new people have a laugh..... any ideas?

Merci

Love that song. Someone special has decided to depart, so that is out of the question huh! So any more ideas apart from shagging?

I wanna do something....get away from the 4 walls, most friends are with their families or partners. So....hence question to go somewhere...and do something.

Go here http://www.jungbrunn.at/ Best 'wellness' hotel I've ever been to. Restaurant is excellent and service is wonderful. Never been in winter but when I was there in spring once and there is a lovely little lake nearby which was nice for a walk.

From Basel probably 4 hour drive.

Re: New Year Alone - What to do?

I think 3/4 was ¼ short of 1 hour? Maybe that needs to be clarified...

Last year I didn't feel like going to party or going to a restaurant for an over-priced, multi-course menu. So, I cooked a lovely homemade meal, went to sleep really early (well before midnight), woke up really early the next day and went to the mountains and skied. No hangover, no traffic, no queues for the ski-lifts and a day out in the mountains. Perfect!

You said no city trip - oh but you live in Basel! I would grab a friend, hop on a train and enjoy Paris

Alternatively hop on a plain to a place with some sun. This weather is killing me!

This is a top place to visit and I fully agree with the above comments, not sure whether you would get a room mind as its so near to Xmas.
