GoldenPass Line

Hi everyone,
Can I please get people's opinion of the GoldenPass Line during winter. I'm wondering if the places are beautiful in winter too? Also, Are there still any green places to see?

Re: GoldenPass Line

Yes, it's beautiful at any time of year, especially the bit between Montreux and Zweisimmen. I'm not sure what the conditions are like over there, but I would imagine you will get a mixture of green and white scenery.

Re: GoldenPass Line

We did the trip last February and it was awesome! I'd prefer to do it in winter, on a sunny day it's even more beautifull than in sommer IMO.

Don't hesitate! Enjoy your journey

Re: GoldenPass Line

I've gone twice in winter. Lovely journey - like taking a train trip through Narnia.

If going at the end of the next month you could stop at Chateau d'Oex for the International Balloon festival.

Yes, it's a normal train with no special conditions or supplements, and no need to reserve a seat, with the one exception mentioned below.

On some of the trains, you can sit right up the front and get the same view as the driver. There are only a small number of these seats though, and for these you need a first class ticket and a seat reservation. Well worth the extra cost though.

If the seats haven't been reserved you are able to sit in these with a normal ticket
