Hotelplan skiing deals

Hotelplan (Migros holiday arm?) is doing really great deals on ski weeks around Switzerland. We picked up a flyer in Migros at the weekend which had a 6 night holiday (Sun-Fri night (incl)) for CHF 850.- per person. It's a 3* hotel, half board, the week's ski pass included and kids aged 6 and under go free.

Destinations vary - we looked at Lenzeheide.

Thanks for that, looks like they also have a website. German and French only, but the prices seem pretty reasonable.

German question, when going through the booking process and you're choosing which rooms you'd like, there's an extra option for "Zuschlag Halbpension / Person", is that for Half-board?

Re: Hotelplan skiing deals

No idea, I'm afraid. Zuschlag usually means extra charge or supplement so maybe it's for a room with a view of the mountains as opposed to a room with a view of the bins.

I guess one of the Swiss members of this forum can fill you in on the meaning.

Re: Hotelplan skiing deals

it's the extra you pay per person for half-board - which is likely breakfast and evening meal. If it's really cheap, consider it otherwise don't....

You're right and as far as I know, Halbpension is always breakfast and dinner, never breakfast and lunch.

Re: Hotelplan skiing deals

We've taken advantage of the Hotelplan deals a couple times now. One place we highly recommend is Hotel San Gian in St. Moritz (think the Swiss counterpart of Aspen or Whistler). The service is friendly and the food is EXCELLENT (4-course dinner every night).

For 5 days of skiing (covering 3 mountains), room and breakfast & dinner, the high-season cost is just about CHF 1,000 p.p. (low season is around CHF 700+) My husband and I are heading there again next week.

A comment on the halbpension - from my understanding Swiss hotel rooms typically already include breakfast, so the "halbpension" is really cost for the dinner during your stay at the hotel.
