Any ideas for one day walking/not hiking trips?

I can walk all day without getting tired but what I really don't enjoy is hiking, unfortunately. So if it is going up the hill I get tired very fast and I can't really enjoy it. I know, it takes time to build up strength but I tried and even if I hike regularly I get stronger but I still don't like it.

I lived in Montana long time ago and my friends used to take me for walks there. They knew I didn't like hiking so we picked some flat but long walking trails only and this is what I enjoyed the most. A bit of easy hiking is okay, just not very steep and up the hill for 5 hours:-)

Are there any trails you could recommend? Zugerberg is perfect but I have been up there many times already.

How about walking alongside Luzern's lake? it's flat, really beautiful and there are plenty of benches for you to rest and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Beautiful indeed but too easy. I am not 80 yet.

Around Kloentalsee Glarus. You don't need a lift ticket. You can drive there.
There is also a bus. But it takes a bit longer. Very pretty walk around the lake. You only go about 3/4 around though the rest is a street. It will take the best part of a day unless you just do a small section and turn back. Two waterfalls.
0ne is a little bit off the lake and just beyond a guest house. Popular in the summer for picnics and swimming. The lake is a reservoir. So in the spring it is partially drained..my dogs love to walk around then as it has lots of streams that interconnect. Have a look on the webcam for Kloental. Looks different in all the seasons. Quiet in fall and spring. Busy in the summer.

Jump on the train to Arosa, lots of nice walks to be had.

The train ride from Chur up to Arosa is lovely.

Great in the summer and winter.

(also driving is an option, its only 1.5-2 hours from Zug)

cheers

Don't take this the wrong way but do some searches for kids hikes.

Children can walk all day but don't have the stamina or strength for steep, prolonged uphill sections so it's worth looking there.
There's quite a bit of stuff on the web and books of hikes too.

A lot of the walks I'd recommend as suitable have mechanical assistance to get to the start of the walk and theses cable cars etc are quite often, at this time of year, closed after the winter season but not yet open for the summer.

Great flat walks with fantastic views include:

Brunni-Holzegg to Ibergeregg.

Amden (top of the chairlift) to Arvenbüel via the high-moor at Hinter Hohi.

Weesen to Quinten along the Walensee.

Longbyt's thread here has lots of suitable hikes (just ignore those with a lot of ascent).

The Thurgauer Panoramaweg is absolutely gorgeous. I hiked the part from Bischofszell to Amriswil with my Family and it was simply beautiful. Height difference is very Little and it's mainly downhill if you choose to walk in the same direction as I did.

Schwarzee. Not totally flat, not totally hilly. Very scenic. Restaurants on both ends if you get hungry. You can also take the lift to the top of the hill for great views.
