Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

I am rusty too, haven't play much in the past 2~3 years. But in a few session I should be up to speed.
I have no idea about that meetup.com, never used it, but if you know, go for it

Anyhow, we dont need too many people, a group of 5~6 should be ok (or maybe start slow with only 4).

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

I'll setup something on meetup.com then. I'm flying back to South Africa today but I'll be back Tuesday next week.

I'm based in Fribourg so we need a location in Lausanne. Any volunteers?

One thing at a time, first we need people, later we discuss where

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Nice to see some interest again on this. I have played and DM.ed a long time ago AD&D and 3.5, and have just acquired the basic set for 4.0. I don't know what your opinions are but 4.0 seems fun. Either way, a one-shot might be a good ice-breaker for a new group to get to know each other. With pre-made characters? Are there any places or shops in Lausanne which can allow a session to take place? I am not in Lausanne, but near Nyon, so not too far.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

I never used the 4th edition, when I stopped playing it had just came out. We can give it a try. But this are lesser details, I am sure we will find some place in the middle of the way, and find out the system.
So far we are only 3, we need minimum 2 more (3 or 4 more would be better)... lets see

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Only 3? I thought there were like 4 of us who posted here. I find 4 is more than enough for a decent game to get going - 1 DM + 3 mooks ... er ... players.

I've DM'ed for ... hmm ... nearly 18 years, so I can pretty much run a game at the drop of a hat

(Oh, and setting up a meetup group might be a good idea. That's where I first searched for potential participants when I came to Lo-sahn)

So ... what kind of D&D game would we run? Vanilla? Rotating DMs? Flailsnail rotating DMs? Sandbox? Drinking D&D? :P

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

I think we can rotate. Each one can have his own campaign and so we have time to prepare the next session. And each one can run its own world (exiting one or a invented one) in the sets he chooses... Gives us more freedom to try different things also. What you (and the others) think?

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

It sounds good to me. I've been raring to run some old-school gaming based loosely as heck off of the tropes in the Elric saga.

To whoever is still interested and not yet in a group, we were able to form a small group and will start playing soon, but there is still place for new people. Just send me a message

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Hi Dan,

I see Konrad caught you before me. We've set up a small group with 2 DMs, so we can play around things like work and travel.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Hello,

I live in Lausanne and would like to join or create a group to play the original D&D. I used to play the games like 20 years ago and want to start again. I can also be a master, if the players have some patience during the first adventures.
I read that a group has already been formed. Could I join it? Thanks!

Happy adventuring!

BaldaZen

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Hi BaldaZen,

Yes, we have a little group going - though we haven't managed to meet up in the last month . I've been running a game (and will continue to) and a second game will get going too.

I'm also going to set up a meetup group for english-language rpg gamers in this part of Schweiz.

Cheers,

Luka

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Hey Luka,

I tried to message Konrad but he hasn't replied. I'm back from all my travels and would love to get back into a game. Let me know if you're interested in having another player join the group.

Cheers,
Jacques

Re: Dungeons & Dragons [Lausanne]

Hi guys,

sorry for my long absence, but i was in vacation for the past 3 weeks in Brazil and the week before was very busy in the office.
I think Luka managed to talk to you all, so you should be up-to-date with our little group here.

Luka, can you please send an email to us all, so we can plan the next session?
