Easyjet Plus card - is it worth it?

So is it? Currently it costs 220chf and you get speedy boarding and seat allocation. I have never used either but as i get really stressed before a flight about luggage, is it worth paying extra just to get first on the plane and have plenty of space to put your luggage?

Im leaning to "no" but wanted to ask people who have it if its worth it and people who dont have it if they wish they ever did

Thanks

As a frequent flyer I looked into this but it is not worth it.

Re: Easyjet Plus card - is it worth it?

Depends on how many flights you make.

You can pay for seat allocation per flight (I think it's about 8-12 per flight) and SB is included.

A lot. Flying last Christmas with hold luggage and no SB its not something i will do again. But i guess just standing on line early will save me 220 chf at the expense of, well, standing in line for a long time!

I will buy SB if i fly with hold luggage. But just with hand luggage probably not the. Let me just do some calculations :P

It's nice to skip the check-in (well, Bag Drop) queue, some airports have a (slightly) shorter security queue, and though you still end up stood for ages waiting to board, SB tend to be in a less scrunched up pen, or a separate queue.

Is it worth it? I tend to pre-pay for the exit seats, but it's a nice to have that I could easily live without.

Easyjet has a "guaranteed" hand luggage size. If yours is within the size, they guarantee you can keep the baggage in the cabin with you. Might be worth looking into as well.

Re: Easyjet Plus card - is it worth it?

I flew EJ last week Geneva > Bournemouth and back. You could pay extra for a seat of your choice. But with online check seats were allocate without extra cost.
I'd be annoyed to have paid for seat allocation.

Likewise speedy boarding. What's the point if you have a seat anyway? I have also flown EJ with only 50 people on board, before seat allocation, some of whom paid extra to get on first!!

This no longer exists. It was dropped without an announcement by EJ.

Is that an annual charge?

If so then worth considering how many times in a year you travel with Easyjet, or whether you work for a company that you request to pay it for you.
In London I had a manager who live in either Cambridge or Oxford (my memory a bit blank which one) but preferred to fly from Stansted so preferred Easyjet as used a more handy airport for him to whatever destination he flew to.

For a 3 day trip, how much do you need, so many items like toiletries you can get in small sizes & if visiting friends, they will have them for you, or if using hotels, maybe some stuff they supply maybe acceptable; most decent hotels/motels will supply hairdryers, some even trouser press, & if you ask an iron. Depending on season, the heavy stuff, outer wear you can wear, though it is a bit of pain by airports.
Consider also what type of luggage you use, do you real need wheels. If not; consider you will need both shoulder straps & hand holding. Me I usually travel with laptop so go for 13", as well as tablet & mobile, cables drive me insane, but that is modern life. One needs some change some multi under wear and other layers.
For me it depends on the route, I love BA, they offer both hand luggage, & laptop.

I did a research from years ago into luggage & still have a fascination with it in some department stores to see what on offer & check the weight
/size. Once me & OH with a return charter flight, we were some kilos over & wanted to charge huge some, OH argued, they eventually agreed would only charge 30euro for extra suitcase, luckily I had just what was needed without leaving airport & had a couple of large (C&A) cotton bags we could use as hand luggage.

Re: Easyjet Plus card - is it worth it?

I recently got my easy jet card and think it's definitely worth it.
I do travel often (once or twice a month) and I am saving quiet a lot on allocated seats (up to 15 francs per way).

You also save time queues and stress at the airport, and are guaranteed a slightly bigger carry on since you can board the plane before the rest and have enough place to put in in the over head space!

Re: Easyjet Plus card - is it worth it?

Getting on first won't get you to your destination any earlier. If you are travelling with just hand luggage (max 50 x 40 x 20 for guarantee) there is some benefit in getting a seat close to the exit so that you can be one of the first off.

If you have hold luggage, there is little benefit in this.

Probably mostly right, but I've been on a flight where a larger (but "legal") bag was offloaded to allow a "guaranteed" size bag to take its place.

It seemed an odd decision, though, because I thought the point of the smaller bag was that it yould fit under the seat in front of you (and it seemed the wrong part of the aircraft to be from a bulkhead or exit row).

I impulse bought it last year and have used it perhaps 3 times, so I guess its not worth it but the benefits are pretty good.

Speedy boarding
Additional piece of hand luggage
Choice of premium e.g. 1st row seat
Priority security queue

If I don't have a trolley case then I actually prefer to be amongst the last on the plane. Its so much more relaxing to sit at the gate listening to music and reading a book until the last passenger has boarded.
