sight seeing

hi

I will be moving to Zurich in a few weeks and would like to do some sight seeing not just in Zurich but around Switzerland in general. Can anyone advise on some recommended trips?

Thanks!

Re: sight seeing

Go to the SBB travel office, plenty of ideas and offers there.

Re: sight seeing

Swiss railways are called SBB in German. At the main railway station in Zurich is the SBB travel office. They offer visits to parts of Switzerland with rail journeys.

Re: sight seeing

Myswitzerland is useful.

If you plan to do hikes, mountainbiking, cycling etc. use this site:
http://www.schweizmobil.ch/en/schweizmobil.html

You can plan and draw individual tours for those activities on the map.

Re: sight seeing

1 - Combine Chateau de Chillon with Rochers de Naye above Montreux. Could also combine it with Geneva for a long weekend

2 - Luzern. The town, the Vekehrshaus, the surrounding areas. Weekend trip.

3 - jungfrau region - a weekend in Muerren with a trip up to the top of the Schilthorn or a weekend in Wengen with a trip up the Jungfraujoch - I would prefer the former

4 - Rheinfall, Stein am Rhein & Schaffhausen - 1 day or a short weekend

5 - Tessin - Lugano or Locarno ( I love Brissago further out from Locarno ). Long weekend trip.

6 - I agree with Zermatt but need a long weekend.

7 - Bern - weekend or day trip.

8 - Broc Fabrique. Chocolate Museum and a night at Gruyeres. Short weekend trip.

There's plenty more... But first explore the Zurich area. The town itself has plenty to see. Then there's the trip up the Uetliberg. Ice-skating up the Dolder. Cycling round the lake. Ferry trip on the lake. Trips into the Oberland... Hike up the Hoernli. I liked the visit to the aircraft museum at Dubendorf.

Switzerland is the federal parliamentary country its capital name is Bern. Here I like to share the attractions of Switzerland that are most fabulous and provided you a big source of entertainment. If you like to visits these attractions at once, then you wish next time also visits these attractions again. Switzerland is the small country with the natural beauty.
1. Chatea de Chillon in Montreux
2. The Jungfrau Region
3. Swiss national park
4. Fasnacht spring carnival in Basel
5. Geneva
6. The Matterhorn in Zermatt
