Any Beatenberg Trotti experts on here?

Have searched online but can't find all the info we want. We're thinking of going to Beatenberg today and taking the Trotti path down - it shows as open online.

What I'm wondering is if there is a way to hike to Vorsass (with a 5 and 8 year old -- so something like 2 or 3 hour max including adding in the fact that they are much slower than adults).

If not, is there a way to hike back down to the bottom where you get the funicular from the end of the Trotti path?

Also, is there an age limit for being a passenger on the Trotti? We were assuming the 5 year old would have to ride with an adult, not sure on the 8 year old.

We'll take the funicular if we need to to Vorsass, but if there's a reasonable way to avoid it, it's really the Trotti experience we're after.

Alternatively, if there's a child-friendly Trotti path within an hour of Bern you can recommend, we're open to suggestions.

Any other tips greatly appreciated!

Noelle
