Italy

Hi All,

Planning a trip to Italy for 7/9days coming May. Will it be a good time to travel then? Also id like to know if booking a package tour would be a great idea in terms of money and spots covered. I have 2offers for around 990Euro per person.

Tia

Re: Italy

Personally, I believe, Italy is great at any time.
However, weather differs quite significantly between beginning and end of May. As well as between Venice and Sicily.
I usually travel there by car.
CHF 110 per day per person sound like mid-quality 4-star hotels.
No idea about public transport costs.

Re: Italy

After Easter it's good, it's much cheaper and the temperature is for sure pleasant for running around. In spring sicily is amazing.
Personally, it seems weird to book tours in Italy, but I guess it can work. Renting a car is better, you can park anywhere anyway. Unless you're just visiting cities.
You should specify where you are going exactly.

Re: Italy

Euro 990 sounds a little high if it per person when you're sharing a room, but it depends what's included. I've had some really cheap rail fares with Italo that might be worth looking at, and accommodation can still be relatively cheap in May.
