Romantic weekend (in Switzerland)

I'm looking for a very romantic weekend getaway.

I'm looking for recommendations on a romantic (yet not wallet breaking) hotel/spa within Switzerland.

If I had my wish:
* Romantic hotel
* Spa type activities (like a pool, spa, sauna...)
* Within Switzerland
* Good views
* price per night would have to be under 400chf

When -
* next few weeks (by the end of October)
* Prefer a Friday / Saturday or Saturday / Sunday stay

I'm from Zurich - and can drive anywhere - but I don't want to spend all my time in the car.

Any first hand recommendations would be much appreciated.

I originally looked at this place, however due to the expense I could only stay for an hour or two (when it's on discount). Lovely looking place.

I like very much the Arabella hotel in Davos. And since it is off season prices right now are reasonable.

There is also a hotel Castell in Zuoz for more peaceful surroundings. It has very cool design.

I'd look at the Hotel Wald in Sils Maria, but it appears to be full on both weekends.

Romantic hotel can mean different things to different people. Do you like grand Schloss type places, alpine chalet type, small and intimate hotels, ultra modern, etc...?

Lots of the best deals this time of year are with hotels that are about to close for the summer season and then will reopen at the beginning of December for the winter season.

I had a couple of recommendations but the hotels closed at the end of September.

You may have left it a bit late for something this or next weekend.

I'm considering these places:
Anyone have first hand knowledge of these places / recommendations

1)
Kurhaus Cademario Hotel & Spa [https://kurhauscademario.com/en/]
Pro's, Con's
The price is good(ish), the drive is long, the location looks great, the spa looks amazing.

2) The Cambrianadelboden [https://www.thecambrianadelboden.com/]
Pro's, Con's
The price is higher, the drive is less long, the location looks great, the spa looks good.

I would recommend against The Cambrian.

I went there in September, the hotel is great, food is great, the view is great, there's nice walks in the area, there's a free mini bar in the room, it's quite easy to reach (from Zurich anyway), then there's the BUT!!!

The hotel was posted on instagram and is now full of internet influencers who infest the whole hotel to take photos and videos of everything. The pool is much smaller than it looks, so I found myself in this tiny pool as a group of 10 people, 8 of which have formed a queue in the water and are shuffling about impatiently to take 50 photos of themselves in the corner of the pool. Nobody has showered because they have immaculate hair and make up. Same behaviour in the spa area. On my second morning I arrived for breakfast, 3 or 4 guests running about taking photos of the buffet and at the outside eating area, there was another guy flying his drone around while everyone was eating.

It was very amusing to begin with, but it's relentless, shows no awareness of other guests and is certainly not a place to have a romantic or relaxing time.

For something close to Zürich, I've been repeatedly pleased with stays at the Waldhaus Flims and The Valbella Inn Lenzerheide.

It may not fit your time frame now, but to keep in mind...the Waldhaus spa is particularly nice when it's snowing.

Thank you for this information --- Sorry for your experience, but know that I will take this into account.

I got to celebrate my birthday (and mother's day, by chance the same day this year) here.

Absolutely wonderful.

Much as I like CH, why not look a little further afield to get more value for money? There are a number of nice spa hotels over the German border, around the Bodensee, and I'm guessing that there will be a few in the Black Forest too. Both are well within a couple of hours drive from Zurich.
