Berner Weinmesse (wine tasting) 10-20 October

If you're looking for something to do this weekend or next, and you're going to be in the Bern area, you might enjoy the Berner Weinmesse. We've been before and enjoyed it. I've no affiliation with the event.

It's a wine tasting event that happens each year. I think it also travels to other cities. The entry fee is usually 25 Fr. per person but you can find coupons in local papers and online that drop the fee to 15 Fr.

The event runs daily from 10-20 October. You can taste as many wines as you want. Most shops have cubes of bread or other snacks, but if you get hungry there's also a section where you can buy food and non-alcoholic beverages. Many shops offer free home delivery if you order a certain quantity of wine.

BERNEXPO Halle 4
Mingerstrasse 6
3014 Bern

The tram stops right by the Expo, so you can drink as you like and safely hop on public transport.

We'll be going for sure!! Our 'personal' Valaisian vintner is there every year, so we'll indulge in his produce and a chat.

Last year, we discovered for example CANADIAN wine there, a total and lovely surprise! Very recommendable!
