Covid killed my summer holiday plans

I am sure I am not alone.
Had planned to take a few weeks off and go to asia. does not make sense now.
Plan to restrict myself to CH recognising that even EU travel is not ideal.
Was thinking of either day trips across CH or plonking myself in a wellness retreats within CH or close by the border. Open to suggestions from others re. the Wellness retreats. Thank you in advance.

Sorry..... :-)
Solo.
Wellness could be 1-2 weeks
Budget - flexible but not too crazy (never been to one here so not sure what to expect - what is usual? Does 500-700CHF per week sound super cheap... :-).

Hope this helps?

At least there are flights. My wife and me plan is to travel to Mexico next week with a stopover in Frankfurt. The only downside is that quite probably we'll have to stay 10 days in quarantine at home when we return in early August. With a bit of chance, this measure is relaxed before our return. If not, it's only back to living on the conditions we all had by the end of March.

I would say Aquadome in Austria but this is 300chf a night... 500 a week gets you a hotel in Rimini...

Re: Covid killed my summer holiday plans

I did 2 weeks traveling around switzerland years a go. You should be able to buy a 1 month GA travel card for the trains at about 400 bucks, then you can crack on. Its an impossible question to answer as theres so much to see and do and really depends on your budget and interests.

My trip went to Sion Irish music fest, Shaufhausen cow riding, Interlaken for a few days, then on to Zermat hiking, Lugano, and finally a few days on a horse trek in Scholl

Way too crowded....

In the swimming pools, saunas, at breakfast, dinner, etc. Too popular now. Despite the prices.

Bugger the holidays alone, as long as COVID19 didnít kill us for that reason we should rejoice.

We live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, ain't that holiday enough?

My only real problem is not being able to visit my/our families, our parents and other relatives are old(ish) and it's simply not wise to expose them.

Thank you. That is my second option. Just go around this beautiful country. So much I have not yet seen!

Re: Covid killed my summer holiday plans

I really like the German shore of lake Constance, usually very nice weather, lots of nice hotels inc wellness retreats. Great for cycling, hiking, the Zeppellin museum, not far by bus to Munich for a day out, lots of great wineries and it's pretty cheap!

This site was useful.

It sucks not being able to visit family and friends over holidays, but look at the bright side, it is a unique opportunity to enjoy the attractions CH has to offer.

We decided to do several hiking trips within Switzerland, with friends. May a trip to get up close to one of the glaciers.
