Hotel restaurants not open in Graubunden?

We are hoping to get away for a long weekend and were under the understanding that while restaurants are still closed, hotels can keep their restaurants open to guests. So our plan was to head to Graubunden and find a hotel with its own restaurant so we can have supper in the hotel every night after a day of skiing.

So far all the hotels we've looked at state that their restaurants are only open for breakfast. Are we just unlucky, or are the rules different in Graubunden? Am not keen on the idea of cooking on a campstove in a hotel room. I suppose we could do takeaway every night and picnic in the hotel room, but to me part of the appeal of going on holiday was the novelty and convenience of being able to eat in a restaurant.

Open to guests. You might have looked at places that generally just do bed and breakfast?

But also some hotel restaurants just won't make enough money if they operate only for guests for lunch/evening service. Fixed costs, economies of scale and all that...

Had a quick look at some random hotels in Davos, no mention here of restaurant being closed to dinner https://ameronhotels.com/en/davos-sw...ygiene-program

Re: Hotel restaurants not open in Graubunden?

Here in Valais, it is a mixed bag- some Hôtels are open with their restaurant opened for guests only, breakfast and dinner- others are open with restaurant for guests for breakfast only, and others have decided to close and wait for full re-opening

We have decided to rent a self-catering appartment - and there are several outlets that do take-away which we have not used so far. Defo what I would do with a family- go self-catering and use take-aways. Fabulous conditions, sunshine and pistes basically to ourselves- not using bubbles or telecabins, on chairs and pomas.

As far as I can see, several have their restaurants open for hotel guests in Klosters. I felt rather envious seeing a couple sitting on a sunny terrace toasting each other with red wine this lunchtime as I went past.

Went 2 times in February in Graubunden and Hotel had both lunch and dinner for Hotel guests. Maybe it is hotels which do not offer Half and full pension usually and hence not equipped to do lunch and dinner?

Re: Hotel restaurants not open in Graubunden?

Maybe it depends on the hotel? We recently stayed in Graubunden, and the hotel had a restaurant which was only open to guests - breakfast, lunch and dinner. I must say it felt strange to dine again in a restaurant, knowing that it wasn't permitted elsewhere. But it was equally liberating!

Re: Hotel restaurants not open in Graubunden?

The first hotel I looked up states that the restaurant is opened for hotel guests. Breakfast and Dinner.

https://laaxerhof.ch/en/

Are you looking at the info while doing reservations (where you decide whether you want breakfast included, but dinner is not always an option)?

I then looked up a restaurant in LAAX where I ordered takeaway a couple of weeks ago (Nooba) and and it states that they are open to hotel guests. I am not sure if they mean the Rocks Resort only or, the adjoining hotels too (like Laaxerhof above).

I walked pass a few hotels in Flims and Laax a few weeks ago and all hotel restaurants seem to be open but I could only get take away because I wasn't staying there.
