| | Re: Holidays abroad during Covid | Quote: | | | | | I liked Jordan; we escaped the UAE to there. There is a place in Jordan that eclipses Petra...Jerash. It's a Greco-Roman city that's absolutely stunning, just north of Amman. Oman is much prettier than the UAE, the people are very friendly, and (unlike the UAE) the beaches and water are unpolluted. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a wonder of Arabic architecture. Take a dhow cruise! | | | | | Thank you for your suggestions! And Jerash is indeed absolutely amazing and well preserved! Amazing places waiting to be seen. |

It's between AED135 and 250 for a PCR test, I'll do one in the morning for my flight back. I've not bumped into Chuff yet btw.
I know it for a fact that over half the population here is vaccinated. It's policed well but it's not overbearing for holidaymakers, same mal obligations as at home really.
Having a lovely time!!

That wasn't so bad. Test going out, test coming back. Full plane. Great weather. Chuffing great week, I recommend it. Airlines doing a good job, airports, hotels, everyone...!

I am now home since Monday and no contact from anyone to check PCR test. As expected really as the onus was on the carrier and immigration to check, I suppose nothing or antigen would kick off processes at the border.
Did anyone come back with just antigen or nothing from a non-quarantine country…?

Last Sunday the police checked everyone arriving in ZRH. No idea though what would have happened if you did not have a PCR test, but then Swiss had that checked before you were allowed to board.
Showed my ID so they could verify that it was my test, got immediately told that I need to carry my permit (which I showed him......)

Do the police still do random checks of people legally confined to quarantine?

Has anyone done the Swiss test to release on day 7 of travel quarantine here? Info says rapid antigen acceptable, but I can’t figure out if you have to pay for it or not like before travel? By the time result is in and I’ve submitted it it would only buy me 2 days so not sure it’s worth it.

I would say that the test basis is for travel (return) so you're on the hook.
Has anyone followed up on you since your return?
I also assume you entered the country with an antigen done before flying from CUN, correct?

All I’ve had so far is an email from the canton in reply to me registering as a “quarantinee” with all the quarantine info. I did find in there eventually that on day 7 I can take an Antigen or PCR for free to end quarantine early.

Portugal has extended its ban on UK tourists until at least May 30. No footie in Porto, then. https://metro.co.uk/2021/05/14/portu...list-14580241/ |

Are you saying, a non-EU who lives/has a permit in Germany - or any EU country - is at the moment not allowed to enter Switzerland?

So your average Brit or American cannot enter Switzerland. https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home...OzNn9AQZNuzoA4
"Persons who do not have rights of free movement will not be permitted to enter Switzerland from a high-risk country for stays of less than 90 days that do not require authorisation, other than in cases of special necessity." (This SEM "high risk" list is different to the FOPH quarantine list).

Italy opens up from Sunday too the news wires are reporting. No need for quarantine but a negative PCR test needed. Unclear if that includes all modes of transport.

I still can't find any news of the update entry restrictions for Italy. Is it really no quarantine now?
So if I understood it correctly, you need a PCR test and to fill out a self-declaration form now?
