Just returned from Milano after 4 day weekend. As expected, no control at all at the border in both directions. Only a significant amount of Germans driving south clogging the Gotthard tunnel, 12km line or so said the TCS website last Saturday. So we had to drive the alpine pass on a sunny day with the roof down.....1st world problems.
Once there, only bars and restaurants ask for the covid certificate. The app they have in their phones works flawlessly with the Swiss covid certificate app. Also, no one asks for an ID to check if the name on the app matches the person | The following 3 users would like to thank Axa for this useful post: | |

I loaded all the covid certificates and PLFs to the Swiss website more than 12 h before the return flight, but all the documents were still checked at the check in. So I would say don't bother loading, it doesn't change anything.

I'm supposed to be going to Spain next week. Too risky now, they get one case and we have to quarantine for 10 days.
I believe they are not going to do this to neighbouring countries - so need to move our city break to France, Germany or Italy. Where should we go? I'm leaning towards Paris or Berlin.

Am also tempted to just get out of Zurich (desperately need it). Most places would be safer than here at the moment, it‘s just the thought of sitting on a plane that makes me stop.
Germany are very likely to impose more restrictions. Spent Christmas in Tromso (Norway, Arctic Circle ) before the pandemic - it was amazing!

At least we have car and train as alternative options for that one, if the situation allows it.
