Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

OK - I've decided that my mission before I leave this country , I want to stay a night at this place:
<<Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa>>

It's priced sooooo high, that I cant imagine staying more then 1 night

But I really want to stay here.

Anyone know of a time during the year where the prices are less Crazy high.
I don't care what day or what month

I don't have any timeframe of when I'll be leaving this country --- assume a few years, so I have a few years to find a way to pay for 1 night at this place.

Use a third-party booking app like booking.com

Just checking a couple of dates, for two adults, the Waldhotel is 532 CHF per night - for two.
It's in the same complex and you get to use all the facilities.

Re: Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

Wait until things open up a bit. The Swiss are utilising Swiss hotels and as such the prices have gone up. The prices are usually half of what they are now and also there were usually pretty attractive package deals.

I've also been looking recently, for a special occasion and it's the same at the Chedi, Villa Honeg, Park hotel Vitznau etc.

Once people start traveling again the costs will come down.

Thank you - I didn't realize they were the "same" place. And as long as I can use the spa then I'm not toooo worried about the room.

This has drastically reduced the price. Thank you.

You don't get the bath in the window nor the fake fireplace but everything else is the same and the restaurants and spa serve all the hotels.

Re: Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

The main attraction of the hotel is the very nice SPA and the restaurant. The room view may not be awesome but you dont anyway spend a lot of time in the room. I spent a weekend at the WaldHotel (the cheap mans choice) and took full advantage of the spa which was excellent.

I would double check the SPA is open though - lots of hotels are not opening their spa right now...

Yes, I believe this too. Burgenstock was usually around CHF600 for the lowest rate before the pandemic. Def not over a 1000!

Re: Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

When they first opened up, we were staying there for 300 CHF per night with a lake view, breakfast & spa entrance included ... we went 3 times in 3 months. I stupidly assumed it would always be like that. Can't bring myself to spend that kind of money there now... but you should go, it really is a special place (if you can use the spa).

You also have to be careful when making the booking - the default setting on their website is to book you into the 5 star hotel building, make sure you try and book in one of their other ones like everyone else has suggested. Palace or Wald Hotel ...

Re: Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

Keep a watch for gift vouchers (gutschein) coming up via ricardo and sometimes FB marketplace...my retired neighbour has scored some brilliant cut price deals for here and other hotels (and concerts and "experiences"), usually from folks who've made non refundable bookings and then cannot attend...

Get invited as a delegate to one of the events organized by Richmond Events and stay there for free... sure you need to attend some meetings and "network" but hey it's free including all your meals

It looks like they are using other venues now

Have you considered Villa Honegg in Ennetburgen? It also belongs to the Burgenstock chain and has fantastic views and a spa. You can walk over to Burgenstock as well.

Re: Burgenstock Hotels & Resort - Burgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa

We used to stay at the Waldhotel each month but rates have since increased. Be careful though as whilst the spa is great there, you don’t (usually) get included access to the main Burgenstock spa, rather you have to pay an additional hefty fee. The main hotel spa can get busy but is great before breakfast when you can often enjoy the misty morning in an empty pool! Don’t miss the floatation room.

Booking with a Virtuoso travel agent should be the same cost as the website but the rate includes 100 CHF dining credit (also breakfast if not already included, a room upgrade if available at check-in and early check-in / late check-out). This is the same at many luxury hotels worldwide and there’s a big choice in CH! Feel free to PM me for more info or search for an agent online (disclaimer: I’m a travel agent and would earn a commission for any bookings made; no additional cost to you).
