Shortening quarantine to 7 days, any experience?

I am trying to figure out the logistics of it, so if someone have had been through it (ideally in Fribourg) would be great to share the info, because the only thread I could find about it does not answer all the questions.

According to FOPH, one can leave the quarantine on day 7.

Questions:

1- Being in quarantine in the first place, is one allowed to go out to do that test? Is pre-authorization required?

2- If one has to show the result on day 7, and assuming the rapid antigen wasn't available, does this mean they can go out on day 5 or 6 to do a PCR? probably not! so I am wondering how does it work.

Cheers,

When we were in quarantine we got an email with all the info. Basically you are allowed to leave the house to go to the test (not using public transport - drive, walk or bike is ok). You are not allowed to take the test UNTIL day 7 - then you have to wait for result, send result to canton, wait for permission to leave quarantine. So you might not be out until day 8/9 - we didn’t bother!

Cheers,
Yes, after 7 day you can be tested to end the quarantine (you will have to wear a mask when outside for the next 3 days).

NO, you do the test on day 7 (result within 15mn)
After the test you have to fill a form (online) but mostly you are freeeeeeee

I read something on an ex-pat forum of people saying they asked and were told by the authorities that you can simply do a free home test on day 7 and that's it. No notification or anything else required. But this is possibly as good as "a man in the pub told me"...

Re: Shortening quarantine to 7 days, any experience?

I did it in canton Zurich last Saturday - booked an appointment at the pharmacy, took the test, results came in 15 mins and I was free to go out.
I did call the Zurich hotline to ask, what I had to do, and I was told nothing at all. However, this might change depending on your canton.

It was nice to be able to enjoy the nice weather during the weekend

Just make sure you are ready for a 7 (or 10) days quarantine
