| | Nice spots for a day trip to Hochschwarzwald
Hi,
We are deciding to go for a day trip in early September to the Hochschwarzwald area (by that I mean the area within one hour of driving from the border of Kanton Zürich with Germany. Is the name correct?).
I checked the area a bit and saw there are some lakes (Titisee, Schluchsee), Gorges (Wutachschluch), and waterfalls there that could be interesting. Does anyone have experience and/or recommendations where to go to visit some enjoyable nature (or nice old cities etc..)?
As one of the travellers is a baby in their stroller, we really prefer stroll-friendly paths and car-friendly routes too.
Your hints are more than welcome.
Many thanks
Best

A little further than an hour, depending on how you're driving, is Triberg, some lovely cake and a decent path up to a waterfall is there.

Depends on what you mean by nice.
Titisee has lots of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, entertainment but lots of tourists.
Schluchsee is much quieter but not much to do other than walk around the lake.

It's great for little kids because of all the squirrels!

a) cherry brandy
b) a cherry and chocolate cake with said brandy...
c) cuckoo clocks | The following 2 users would like to thank Treverus for this useful post:

Do you know any specifc location around Schluchsee to recommend to go to woth car? We prefer not to judt walk the circumference of the lake |

There is a Parkplatz/Parking near the center on an unnamed road!
See picture below
Enjoy

Enjoy | | | | | Thanks a lot. I meant more something like a spot with an optimal view over the lake, if there is any. Something like the Giessbach hotel over Brienzersee |

One of my favorite spots is not overlooking a body of water - but lovely just the same. If you are open to a forest / stream experience instead, consider trying Menzenschwand. It is nearby Saint Blasien. There is a sweet, smaller waterfall with areas to walk around, picnic, etc... We put our feet in the stream on hot days. There is a restaurant right there which is good for beer and goat's cheese and plenty more in the village center. https://www.hochschwarzwald.de/attra...lle-20f9761d43 | This user would like to thank zia2001 for this useful post:
