Ski villages with a creche

Does anyone have a recommendation for a ski village in Switzerland that has a creche for kids not old enough to ski? I know about Grachen and Zermatt, but was hoping to find more options.

We're not looking for hotels with childcare-- they are all too pricey.

Re: Ski villages with a creche

Been thinking about this- and I am afraid I am not aware of any. Hos old is the child/children? When our were too young to ski we took it in turn, and my parents joined us. Kids can normally join ski school crèche aged 4, some from age 3.

Laax has a kindergarten for very small children, I think from 2.5 years. But frankly speaking with such a small kid I would better go to some Kinderhotel in Austria. The hotel can also bring the older kids to ski school and pick them up for lunch and bring them back. We always went to Austria before our youngest was old enough to ski.

Re: Ski villages with a creche

Thanks for the answers. My kid is 3. The tip about Saas Grund and Laax are good, and I will check those out. We don't like to drive, therefore not likely to cross to Austria.

Ok that is a shame as you would get good value for money. At 3 they start putting the kids on ski playfully in Austria and most places will have some.kind of ski and fun daycare. Not cheap either but not as expensive as Switzerland. Could get a flat near the slopes (costs way less than here). Many places reachable by train in Tyrol. In CH they start ski school later so you will be looking at crèche with likely crèche prices.
When my child was that age we went to Pitzis Kinderhotel in Pitztal. Was wonderful!

Re: Ski villages with a creche

I'm not ready for my kid to ski, and he's young for his age. Also, staying in Switzerland allows us to use the SBB baggage service, otherwise taking a train with ski gear and a small child is not doable.
I can see how if you own a car, going to Austria is a better value, but not for us GA city-dwellers at the moment.

I don't agree. My daughter had a ski course in Arosa when the was 3 and I have impression that the offers for small kids has increased since then. BTW, Arosa is an interesting resort which offers ski school and Krippe for kids for free if you stay in one of the partner hotels (many of hotels are in the list).

I also suddenly remembered Swiss Holiday Park. I think they have a slope for the small kids right near their kids club. And you can enjoy their waterpark and pools after skiing.

I want to echo this --- if you stay in a partner hotel in arosa, ski school (or day care - run by the ski school) is included with your stay. It's a really great deal and we've always had great instructors in Arosa.
