Re: Sketching in Switzerland

I agree... those are some really nice works!

The way it looks on Doodle, we will be going to either the Zoo or Kunsthaus this Saturday from 2-4pm. I thought people would be more democratic here.

Since the weather looks nice, the Zoo seems like the best option to me. The Kunsthaus will be the alternative / rain location.

Anyone else is still welcome to vote/join!

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

Hi!
I'm new on this site - and this sounds so interesting!! I would love to take part in this - I really miss being able to dedicate real time to drawing and painting (it's become something I just play around with during the wee small hours now)
I work a lot and live in Basel - would this be a weekend activity? Will keep an eye on the thread
x

Also a long-time lurker, lured out by your thread. What a great idea. I can't make it either this weekend but I would love otherwise to tag along. Will also follow the tread.

Cheers

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

abidoo, thanks for the nice compliment. =)

Since the 1st meeting didn't work out for everyone I hope to arrange the 2nd one in the early July (perhaps the 1st weekend).

Feel free to post ideas for places in the meantime.

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

Sounds like a good idea. Did anything come of this? I'm not really a 'professional' artist, but before moving over here, I did work as a graphic designer - and I'm going to also keep an eye on this post.

You can take a look at my deviantart gallery here: http://jd3366.deviantart.com/

And if you don't mind my asking, what kind of age group is everyone here (and if you don't want to answer - don't!).. I'm 28...

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

Hey Joski7,

No problem if you're not professional. To be honest, the challenging part has been scheduling.

I suppose the best thing now would be for anyone to simply announce when he/she is going to location and is planning to sketch or do artwork. Then instead of big groups, we can have small satellite meetings which at least at some point people will be able to attend.

Although I have initiated... I don't want people to depend on me for organizing because that's too limiting. Plus, my schedule isn't always the most flexible. =P It should work more like a forum and just see who would like the join on a given date/place. The interest is definitely there!

Edward

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

Hi guys, I would be really interested in heading out to do some sketching/drawing, I'm so out of practise and really need a good kick to get back into it.

Are there any plans to head anywhere in the next few weeks?

Weekdays during the day suit me better, but let me know of any Saturday meets also.

Re: Sketching in Switzerland

Have any of you heard of the WorldWideSketchcrawl?

http://www.sketchcrawl.com/

They post dates well in advance (always Saturdays) and you can post your sketches there too.

Also Urban Sketchers could do with some Swiss representives!
