Does anyone have any recommendations for a good and reasonably priced hotel in Venice. Preferably on the island as we will be parking at the port as we are going on a cruise, and want to stay the night before and the night after and explore Venice on foot.... except the canals that would we'd use a boat then .

Think the price's pretty reasonable too - especially for the hot summer months! http://www.alpontemocenigo.com/en/index.htm | This user would like to thank summerrain for this useful post:

If you don't mind 20 min. bus trip, Hotels in Mestre are cheaper and probably cleaner (and easier parking), like a mid price hotel below: http://www.venere.com/hotel/index.ph...kwp=76-h278250 | This user would like to thank Macchiato for this useful post:

I'm also looking for accommodation in venice for 3 nights.
Preferably a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment or a B&B. Wondering if anyone knows of reliable websites or has been there recently.

We stayed in the Hotel Ai do Mori in the street behind San Mark's place-
we had the room at the top, 3rd floor with its own roof terrasse overlooking the town and St Marks-fabulous value !!Between Euro 50 and 150 depending on room and month. Look it up on Trip Advisor. Not posh -but best value around and magical atmosphere and very friendly staff (the steps up to reception look awful, carpet worn, etc - but it is just the best location and rooms are great.
It was recommended in a UK Sunday magazine travel supplement, and lived up to expectations. http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationP...-d23...

I found a great place on Airbnb, then totally by chance also came across it on another website Friendly Rentals, for the same rate but minus the rather large Airbnb booking fee. Many thanks to you all.

I was in Venice this past weekend and I can wholeheartedly recommend the BEST WESTERN Quid Hotel near the Venice airport. It is in Mestre. The hotel was very much worth it.
-the price is around $100 per night
-There is a really good breakfast included
-there is a bus stop 50 meters from the hotel with a bus going to venice 2x/hr. You can buy tickets at the hotel for 5.2 euros round trip. Its a 20 min ride to venice
-its convenient to the airport and is close to the highway if you're coming via Milan.
-beds were comfortable, the room spacious. The whole area is very quiet so you can rest before the cruise

| | Looking for Hotels in Venice at reasonable price
Hi,
I am looking for hotel accommodation in Venice for two days. Since I am booking very late. I find it difficult to find hotel at reasonably price. It is a family trip with my two kids and husband. I tried to find Hotels mentioned in this forum but they are not available on my selected dates. I am not interested in hotels in mestre area though it is cheap but far away from city. Plus I want to avoid travel to city with kids from mestre.

We stayed here: http://www.hotelcavallettovenice.com/
during New Year's with all of our adult children. It is directly behind St. Mark's Plaza. The location could not have been any better.
Even though there is a Hard Rock directly across the little lagoon from the hotel, the thick walls of this hotel kept the noise level to a minimum. I would go back simply because the location was excellent.

Sargam, we stayed in this B&B and liked it a lot. Very conveniently located and great owners as well.

We love the NH Manin right on the grand canale and have been many times. Most things are expensive there. The more affordable ones are usually not in great places. The NH Manin also has it's own Vaporetta stop which is real convenient and the breakfast is great for Italian standards with a nice courtyard for outside eating. It is also located between the 2 main bridges that cross the grand canal. Enjoy!

The Ai Do Mori is the best value Hôtel in the centre- and has family rooms on first floor. But May is the favourite month for visiting Venice, so finding something available and reasonable price in the right location last minute may just not be possible.
