| | Day Trip From Luzern... any recomendation.. hello all,
Me and my hubby , we both have GA, so I would like to utilize it fully.
I am in Luzern and already enjoyed, the beautiful sightseeing / Castles /beaches of Bellenzona , Lucarno, Ascona , Zurich and of course Luzern.
I would love to go somewhere which is within 1 or 1&1/2 hrs by train from Luzern, and something with beautiful scenery, historical monuments, dog sledging , Big statues( love to have of mine before them ) etc, Please do not suggest any mountain trip, as I have been to Piltus and its already chilled over there.
Please suggest some places you like most where I can take beautiful and memorable photos of mine and can enjoy my weekend.
thanks

I would recommend "Flueli Ranft". You take the train to Sachseln and then the Postauto up to Flueli, it's a lovely village and is the birthplace of the Patron Saint of Switzerland Bruder Klaus (Saint Nikolaus) you can visit the house he was born in and where he lived, both beautiful wooden houses. He later went to the Ranft as a hermit. Pay a visit to his hermit cell down in the gorge and climb up to "Muesli" where he lived for a while.
You can also walk to the Highest Wooden Bridge in Europe spanning the Melchaa which is quite spectacular and guaranteed to send shivers down your back. Flueli boasts one of the most wonderful art deco hotels in the whole of Switzerland with beautiful food, the Hotel Paxmontana.
Enjoy your day out! (I wish I was there)
