hi all,
maybe here's s th helpful. i bought recently a pair of timberland boots in konstanz. but not at the timberland store in the inner city, but at the outlet store vis à vis de lago centre. it was 10 percent cheaper. so it is worthwile comparing prizes.

A good break from the shopping is to visit the german brewery Joh Albrecht.

They have great beers including seasonal and really good german food like jager schnitzel.

Yes, there is a shopping area in Konstanz called Lago. It has a car park as well.

Have you found something interesting in KN? The LAGO seems to be a paradise for bargain hunters...http://www.blick.ch/news/wirtschaft/...id3414946.html

The LAGO CENTRE has been established Close to the CH border to attract CH shoppers. All Business is done to get a good Swiss clientele. Compare Kreuzlingen and Konstanz. Kreuzlingen is nice in its way but a "Kaff" while Konstanz IS a nice small City. The Lago will have its CH clientele even if the Euro goes up to 1.35 --- Cross-border commerce flourished for more than a century, whatever the Exchange-rates were. Because people in the border zone on both sides always knew .....

Hi, Does anybody have an idea if the train station at Konstanz has luggage storage/lockers for the size of a normal check-in baggage.

Thanks

Cannot tell you exactly but bear in mind that there are THREE stations, the SBB Bhf Konstanz, the DB Bhf Konstanz and SBB Kreuzlingen (just some meters from the border)

Someone asked the same question here, and the answer was yes. They're big enough for luggage and coin operated.

Hi,

I've heard that there's a shopping area near Lake Constance, on the Germany side. I've heard that people from Switzerland can park their cars and then walk over to German to do shopping. Does anyone know how to get there and where it is exactly?

Thanks!!
It's the lago shopping center, next to the railway station, huge underground parking. Also great shops & restaurants in the city, very nice seepromenade.

Freiburg im Breisgau/Germany is a very nice city too. About 40 minute drive from Basel.

Re: Shopping in Konstanz, Germany

Hi there,
Do any of you know what time do they close the German customs office where you get the stamp before you enter back into Switzerland?

I know the one at the train station closes at 7pm. I would like to know closing time for the one that stands near the bridge, the one you use when you go there by car.

Thanks in advance.

I found this page listing all customs offices in Konstanz including their opening times.

It says that the one at the train station is open till 8:30 p.m. though. Can anyone confirm that the opening times on this page are correct?

Can one get the stamp at the trainstation in Konstanz and then leave by bus (which departs in an other area of Kontanz)?

Hi, apology for confusion, what I meant by "Post Christmas discount" was the Sale During this holiday season especially after Christmas, say 29the Dec.
