Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

My top tip, don't go on a weekend. I went last year and it was blimmin awful, after just 90 mins I was completely fed up of the crowds, kids, pushchairs etc.. So I left and spent an enjoyable afternoon in Geneva instead.

..that's exactly what I did...also, I couldn't stand all these people taking pics of the vehicles...and those little boys sitting inside every possible car. That's why I opted for Monday.

LOL.... I'll try, but the bulge would only be pressing if you HAVE an Aston.

Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

Well I just got back a little over an hour ago from the auto show and my legs are dead..!!

Here's a few pictures that I found humorous as if the car manufacturers didn't want the boys to play with their toys.

I will go on the Tuesday as some people will take extended weekend for the Monday. I went early last year and zipped around the stands but by lunchtime you could not see some of the cars let alone the stands.

Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

I was thinking of going on the last day next Sunday. Is it going to be insanely busy or a bit quieter since it's the last day?

Somebody, a man, said the other day, I am going too but only for taking pictures of the ladies posing with those cars. He was dead serious !!

The "silicon" area of the show can be found in the auto accessories/tools/parts section.

Hopefully he wont waste his time. I have been told that all models are there for the press days and when it opens to the public most of them leave.
I went last year during a normal day and there where a couple of ladies only. I went this year in a press day and it was two models per car. No idea if it will change though

There are usually one or two nice young ladies on the Lamborghini stand on all days. I am reliably informed they are wearing some nice alcantara numbers. From the Lambo bar upstairs on the stand you can normally appreciate the designs of the plunging necklines quite nicely whilst enjoying a glass of prosecco

Actually the lady which can be found in that section of the show will figure as the July babe on his 2010/2011 Calendar, so he says.

Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

this saturday, i'm planning to drive down there with a friend, too. hopefully, i can wake up early and will not hit awful traffic or crowd...

well, i tried last saturday, and had to return back to zurich from aargau due to heavy snow on the roads. as much fun as it is to slide on the snow with a car, i am hoping that this week it won't be bad ;-)

Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

take a train combi-ticket. Have you a) seen the weather forecast b) seen how it is to park down there and c) weighed up the time it takes?

Re: Geneva Auto Show 2010

yeah, obviously the most logical way to go is to take the train, but it will be like cheating on my alfa gt to go see younger beautiful autos dancing under lights.. she's a bit jealous, you know :P

Most definitely!! Try avoiding peaktimes if you do decide going with a stroller...but it's going to be a nightmare nevertheless.
