| | What to do with a rainy weekend in Zurich...?
Ho hum, no sign of this wet weather ending, so a wet and rainy weekend lies ahead. I have my partner and stepson coming out from the UK this weekend - can anyone suggest things to do in and around Zurich this weekend ?
My flat is barely furnished, and I am clean out of hot chocolate and Horlicks, cant find the Monopoly and Cluedo so staying in my apartment is not really an option...
Thanks in advance...

Casino in Baden, now smoke free :-)
Hamam (turkish spa), either in Baden or Neiderdörfli, Zürich City
Alpemare (waterpark in Pfaffikon)
Cinema
Shopping indoors (Sihl City, Glatt Zentrum)
Verkerhaus Luzern (fun interactive transportation museum)
technorama winterthur (fun, interactive science center)

How old is your step-son?
If he's still young, I'd recommend the Technorama (but will be packed due to the weather), Masoala hall at the Zurich Zoo to lift the spirits or even a quick splash at Alpamare for starters... and try to find those games, the weather does not seem to get better... | This user would like to thank herc82 for this useful post: | |

Alpamare is not aimed at small kids, 14 & 12 is probably a good age to go as they should be big enough to go on all the slides. | Quote: | | | | | Is Alpamare all indoors or has both in and outdoors. Although I appreciate that wet weekends can indeed be considered 'Daily Life' I think this Thread would be better placed in Travel/Day Trips/Free Time. And there, as a sticky in this Forum is a list of Family Friendly places to visit. Surely something there which would be fine for a wet weekend.

A new place is opening this winter, very suitable for a rainy day: http://www.badeparadies-schwarzwald.de/
It's less than 100 km north of Zurich, the whole area is beautiful
and well worth the (car)journey. Recommended in summer: SchluchSee !
