You can rent historic buildings for 1CHF.
The buildings that are on offer are all hotels or guest houses, and you can try to "reserve" one night for max. 2 persons for 1CHF.
Sorry the page is only in French or German.

I just tried to reserve this one:

a 300 year old thermal bath, (wellness and luxury included they say).

I also tried to book this one:

A brewery from the 18th Century.
I will keep you posted if I get either of them.

you are applying to enter a draw from thousands of hopefuls....
one lucky hopeful will be picked....
he will find all sort of conditions attached if he wishes to accept....
in the meantime everyone else is on a big marketing list....
and has requested to receive 6 months of some brochure, who knows if payment is expected....

i recently received something telling me i had won some money, a few thousand i believe...condition was that i had to attend an all day event on a boat on a lake.....i was surprised i didn't have to send some money to nigeria in advance to pay the fuel surcharge...

It is infact a contest (free) and as they say with the lotto "you've got to be in it to win it".

Update - it was not me who won one of the historic buildings for 1CHF.
23 people did though (just for one nights stay).

All is not lost as I did win a free boat trip of my choice on the Aare river, lake of Biel, lake of Neuchatel or the lake of Murten.
