Aviation Spotting

I'm a huge aviation fan, I love listening to the pilots talk on my radio. I also love seeing the planes at the airport. I thought I would post some photos I have taken since I have been in Switzerland, of the various planes I have seen. These were taken at Zurich Airport.
If anyone else is an aviation fan and would like to post photos, please feel free

Re: Aviation Spotting

Hello Folks,

I am in Switzerland since 3 weeks, working in Holderbank,AG and will have my apartment from 1st of March in Dietikon.
I am a big aviation fan, since more than 10 years I am interested in this topic, even started to get aviation lessons to get PPL. Beside of this, I am in the virtual sky almost every week (MS FSX + vatsim).
As I like to spot planes would be nice to go to the airport with someone who also interested in this topic and knows more about the possibilities and good places to take some good pictures.
Feel free guys

Regards,
Tibor

Great thread. air traffic controller, pilot, glider and parachuter here.

I also love to do spotting, I would join along. I have a 75mm IS USM lense now but searching for a 300mm soon.

Hello V,

Sounds really great, I would enjoy it! I have an USM 70-200mm which in normal circumtances shall be OK.
So, then we just would need to arrange something, feel free to use my e-mail address.(hope it is visible)
I also have scanner radio to listen what's going on in the air

Hope see you soon!

Re: Aviation Spotting

spotters should visit the viewing dock B at zurich - its full at the moment and the airport have kindly cut holes in the fence at the spotter camps so you can put the lens through

There's a club that lets you go airside at ZRH which is pretty much what you want to be doing:

In case you have a bit of command of German, the Zurich-based aviation magazine Jetstream (www.jetstream.ch) may be interesting for you !

and the WEBsite http://zrh-spotter.ch/ may be quite helpful as well

Hello Chris,

Nice to see there are some ppl who interested in, however I think we should fine someone who has some experience around the Zürich airport. If we can not find anyone then I think we will just go and hope

Anyhow I am just in the midle of my relocation, so all of my staff will arrive on 1st of March, I need couple of days to sort out everything and after that I will be ready.

Tibor
