New rules for Cablecom Service Termination

I received a notice today that as of Jan 2011, one would need to give 2 months' notice to terminate AND the auto extension of the contract will no longer be applied.

This was done apparently in the interest to provide more transparency to customers.

Details in the enclosed PDF.

Re: New rules for Cablecom Service Termination

Fan-bleeding-tastic... and about time. I had my digital phone service for 9 months after I cancelled it, a couple of months into the 2nd year of contract. I was still a loyal CC customer at the time (internet and TV), but nope. Trapped.

I, for one, (tentatively) welcome our new UPC Overlords.

Re: New rules for Cablecom Service Termination

I received a pleasant surprise when I called up Cablecom ( 044 277 91 11 worked for me as the 0800 66 88 66 number was busy ) to terminate the basic Digital TV Package giving them 2 months´ notice in advance.

The service representative counter offered and I accepted a free 12 month subscription, which can be terminated 2 months prior. Sweet - had I not called, I would still be paying - so you might want to call up enquire if you qualify for the sweetener.
