MSNBC changed

Hello everybody.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who watches, or use to watch MSNBC. I noticed my channel changed to ORF1 sometime in the last couple of days. I seem to remember seeing an announcement about the frequency change. Anyone happen to know what the new frequency is?

Cheers!

Phos

Re: MSNBC changed

There is an announcement on the old channel or ORF1(or 2), but I've no idea where MSNBC is going to. Maybe our resident TV expert (Lob Rockster) can shed some light on it...

I have no idea but I'd say that knowing which cable region phos is in, we could look up the provider channel listing and news for him/her and thus save phos some legwork?

Re: MSNBC changed

Now that you mention it - you are right. Phos - please update your location - Switzerland is obvious, please be a little more specific.

Come to think of it Lob - your location isn't much chop either.

My cable comes from some other company which serves only Zollikon - but somehow Cablecom is involved.

Legwork? Why else would we have a god of TV around?

Re: MSNBC changed

Thank you gentlemen! Not only did I update my profile to show that I am in Zofingen, I even put a marker on stuinzu's frapper map. Funny... it put my marker somewhere way out on a mountaintop in the alps. Must be some sort of disinformation feature.

I would be interested to find out where I could look this up myself.

Cheers!

your basic list of channels; Cablecom provides this to you.

Sadly no news but no listing of MSNBC; I am sure that NBC went off in Zurich years ago and you're probably being realligned to a single Cablecom offering which is the same wherever you are in a language-region.....cutting their costs.

So German, French and Italian regions each have their own redistribution rather than being compartmentalised.....

Just my guess.

Frappr is utterly a pain.

If you seek more English language channels, monthly charge will see you with Cablecom digital; one-off investment based on certain criteria will get you BBC and ITV from England/UK....

Re: MSNBC (CNBC) changed

Silly me. I was actually looking for CNBC Europe.

Either way, it looks like its gone. No more Leno, Conan, NBC Nightly News, Meet the Press, Michael Eisner, the McLaughlin Group, and all those other shows that reminded me of what I don't miss about being in the 'states. I suppose I could sign up for a digital receiver... Oh well, at least I still ge the Daily Show.

Thanks for help!

Re: MSNBC changed

CNBC is still available, but only to digital subscribers... I guess Cablecom has a plan to gradually eliminate most stations and move them to digital only.... Lack of competition is really a sad thing sometimes...
