In praise of Cablecom - a service success story.

I moved from Zurich to Basel last weekend. On the Thursday I called Cablecom to inform them of the move. They asked which day I would like my TV, phone and Internet services to be transferred to the new address. I gave them the date, which was to be the following Monday.

On Monday the Internet was not working so I called them. They offered to send an Engineer the next morning. The Engineer arrived on time, upgraded my modem and arranged an upgrade to 20Kbit, made sure the phone was working and checked the TV service, as apparently Basel uses a different frequency.

They were super efficient and friendly. I think it's fair to give credit when credit is due.

Re: In praise of Cablecom - a service success story.

Welcome in Basel, dude.

I moved with Swisscom, they charged me 43 francs for an "Unzugspaket" and they turned me off on on the day I moved.....apart from the charge, seemed "ok".

So I get to my new place and ...... nothing. I need an electrician.

So I paid for an electrician who, during making me work, dumped a neighbour off the internet.

I'm down from 22Mbps sync on my modem to 16Mbps; it's also more than Cablecom.

I'm hopping over.

Greetings to you and your namesake btw, Traubert Weeding Beels coming soon?

Re: In praise of Cablecom - a service success story.

Well...two weeks of intermittent disconnections, customer support calls and sleepless nights later, my cablecom connection is now back to its usual normal self.

Cablecom took a while, but they did manage to do a good job.
After getting through to a "human" on the support line, which might I add takes a great deal longer than expected,
the support specialist did a great job of narrowing down the problem rather quickly and sending over a technician the next day.

Dude arrived, poked and prodded a bit, replaced the wall cable socket, went down to the Keller, replaced a few bits and bobs in the building cablecom box...

...and presto.

Everything worked as if it had been a bad dream.
To top it off, cablecom sent a new modem, just in case.
Switched to the new modem and things work seamlessly now.

Two thumbs up for cablecom, the sorry, miserable lot.
Why can't they just do well like this everytime and not have people go crazy and badmouth them all the time ?

Do a seach on cablecom here or anywhere, that is not good service (almost unbelievable fron cabelcom) that is good luck, the gods are smiling at you this week - buy a lottery ticket.

Re: In praise of Cablecom - a service success story.

I had Cablecom "hunt me down" for two years after moving from Switzerland in 2007, because they said I had not paid my last two months' bills. ...well, after sending them both a letter and email well in advance, informing them of when I wanted/needed the connection to be shut down, and receiving an email saying "ok no prob"...I 6 months later received a letter from a law-firm specialised in finding people who have moved abroad and who still owe money in Switzerland..!!
Luckily, I had saved both a copy of the letter & email, as well as Cablecom's reply, so told them in nu uncertain words to bugger off. Now soon moving back to Zurich to take up a new job ...-any takers on a bet for how long it will take before I get a letter from Cablecom saying they want the old (non-)bills paid?
