Windows 7 update problem

My other half decided I needed windows 7 on my laptop to upgrade from vista as I was having a few problems. So off we went and bought the upgrade, installed it but it is all in german and appears to be no way of changing the language ! This seems ridiculous so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how did you sort it out........ Please help !

Re: Windows 7 update problem

Stupid question maybe, but did you make sure that the upgrade was also English? You can get some Windows 7 packages here that are D/F/I/E and others that are just the three local languages.

Which version of Windows 7? Professional, Standard, or Ultimate?

No we didn't check because everytime we have previously bought an upgrade you have been able to select the language. There was nothing on the box to specify it was only german . You cannot even select French or Italian purely german

Good luck with that
If it was me, I would do a fresh install.

Re: Windows 7 update problem

I second Plantheads recommendation having done it myself. The new install of Win7 is so much better than Vista ever was on my laptop. If you do a new install just make sure you back-up all your data first.
