Exactly, I planned at some point, late summer, early fall to get the old torch, everything looked good, but some complained about the OS being a bit slow and sluggish....when I heard of the new one, apparently this was solved with the new OS! So going to have to wait
I looked at a couple of reviews and must say, the 9810 is a very sweet device. I'll look at the pricing once the 9810 and the 9860 become available here and decide then.
If you need one ASAP, ebay has lots of unlocked ones now. I prefer one with Swiss warranty, though.

I've been using the Torch since the end of last year and love it - yeah, the OS is still slower than Iphone, but the full keyboard is super cool and was the main selling point for me.
OS6 is certainly faster than previous versions, and if they can improve that even more in newer releases of the phone, I'd be first in line for a new one

Yeah, the new 9810 is reportedly a major step forward - BB OS 7 is much faster and slicker, and the new hardware with the 1.2ghz processor and the dedicated GPU apparently make everything run like greased lightning.
I just don't know whether the phones will ever make it to Switzerland - Swisscom has now confirmed that they'll be getting the Bold 9900 - exclusively in Switzerland. But they charge 799 without a contract - which is about 300 Fr. above the US price. In that case, I'd probably get one from the States, even if I don't get the warranty.
I'm guessing they are just getting the jump on the information---no details about release date here, doesn't look like the most reliable site either.
It's definitely going to be cheaper than that - for 799 you get a Bold 9900 from Swisscom without a contract. I'd say it'll probably cost around 550, as the 9860 is priced at 499.-

digitec is now showing the 9810 for 599, late october. I wonder how much cheaper it will be with an abo though swisscom
Swisscom has the 9800 for 749.00 (straight buyout) which is a good 200-300 more than digitec, so I assume it will still be a bit pricey with a 24 month abo
Pet peeves about the Blackberry Torch:
- Browser: Every two or three weeks or so, the browser decides to show only parts of the websites I am looking at (sometimes only a few lines of text go missing, sometimes it only shows the titles of a page and leaves everything else blank.
- Call log: Sometimes (for no apparent reason) I cannot call up the call log. Pressing on the button just lands me with my list of contacts.
- Camera: We'll lets just say I am not a fan either with regards to focusing, low light capabilities, and overall handling.
- Lock button: Really annoying is that you have a perfectly good "lock button" on the top of the phone, which you cannot set to passwort lock the phone! Instead all it does is apply a screen lock, which is useless if you show the phone back into a pocket (invariably unlocking the phone in the process)

Thanks for the input. Now do you have the 9800 or the 9810?
well I ordered my torch on friday--(earliest I saw it available here), and it's ready to ship, but still waiting for the OK from Swisscom for the new account....and apparently 40 days to switch over with my old number.
They also charged me 25 francs for "IdentLog Identifikationsgebühr" for some unexplained reason, but I assume it was mandatory
