Re: Swisscom no erotik!

One thing that really bugs me in Switzerland are the small adverts in newspapers from prostitutes.

I believe that those women are acting independently, that is, NO PIMP. Which as far as I can tell, is much better for them.

Why we have to look at these is beyond me:
I can't help you there. Prostitution is legal in Switzerland (and it is generally not in the US, and that is bad), so why does one need to get upset. What you could do, is join committees who try to help prostitutes (and promote their rights).

they can only appeal to less than half of the population and it sends a signal to some idiots that abusing women is acceptable.
I am not sure that most prostitutes clients are abusing them.

In Germany and Holland prostitution, and offering prostitution, is only allowed in certain areas of a city, so why do the Swiss allow it to be pushed in our faces when we are reading a newspaper?

As I said, it is legal. rfefusing to see it will not make it go away.

As you are probably well aware, many of the women are forced or co-erced into doing it, so permiting an advert for a crime is strange for me.

As I said, I believe that those prostitutes are not co-erced.

i'm not sure if that is true. IIRC prostitutes with pimps earn more and are less likely to be killed/battered than those without.

Well Cablecom does supply erotic if you buy the monthly subscription.

One thing that really bugs me in Switzerland are the small adverts in newspapers from prostitutes. They really lower the tone of some (admittedly fairly low standard) newspapers. Why we have to look at these is beyond me: they can only appeal to less than half of the population and it sends a signal to some idiots that abusing women is acceptable.

Try these two, a friend reccommended them:

Doll House: http://www.doll-house.ch/

Kings Club http://www.kingsclub.ch/

Apparently they are more upmarket types, no funny business. You'll have top check and report back though.

The problem with that being...?
Interesting...why don't u suggest some kind of "SOCIAL event" there?
