| | Re: freesat and dish size | Quote: | | | | | i'm sure it is a hd digital box, we pick up 2a and all the sky digital stuff. if others can pick up freesat nearish to zurich then it must be our dish etc. so recommend me a package that will def pick up freesat from glarus | | | | | Giving your area, go for an 80cm dish to insure good quality.
If you sponsor the train ticket, i'm even willing to come over, bring my preset sat box to test it, sat finder, and my patience.
When that works and is aimed, we can hook your box onto it to see what the problem is, dish or box.
if all goes well, you have tv with your setup box working away.
Done a good few sat installes over the years, astra 1 is dead easy, 2 can be picky at most but if you have a good dish and receiver, then it should not be a problem.

It only since the the last 9 or 10 months that they are free to air, thank heavens for that
Film channels also, film4 , movies for men , horror channel, 24/7 jerry springer lol..

we have an 80cm dish, checked the sites, adjusted the lnb and still no joy, I think our box maybe too old?? its not even listed on the manufactures website now (strong 4400) It seems to ignore the settings I stick in and just goes back and picks up the sky channels. sw says its from 2002, is that too old for freesat?

Strong is a good brand, but as said, even my "comag "from lidl works, they are free to air so it doesn't mind what box you have Blue..
Its hard to say if you are bang on astra 2 or not without seeing it.
Ill preset a spare satbox i have lying around here, ill give it to you this week to test if you want, how about that?
