| | Sunrise contract extension
I have a contract with Sunrise that is expiring in 6 weeks. Will the contract extend automatically or will it go month to month....
I have a chance to extend it online and get 60 chf but I want to see if I can have the extra flexibility of month to month

Take the offer they're giving you - as the contract will roll over in 6 weeks, it's too late for you to cancel the contract anyway.

Dont I only need to give 30 minutes notice when I plan to cancel?

contract will extend automatically, you need to notify them if you want to cancel it sooner rather then later.

yeah, 12 months - according to the AGB, you have to cancel 2 months before the contract rolls over: http://www1.sunrise.ch/is-bin/inters...ter-AGB-DE.pdf

I was wondering something similar earlier today (though I'm with Swisscom).
Also, do the Swiss carriers allow you to get another subsidised phone at contract renewal time?

e.g. if you signed up with them a year ago with the Flat Classic Surf subscription and you got a new phone with that, they will have charged you 60 Fr. per month until now. If you got the subscription without a phone, you only had to pay 40 fr. per month.
So if you received a new phone a year ago and paid 60 a month, and you get another new phone now, nothing will change for you. If you paid 40 until now, a new phone will result in an increase of the monthly costs to 60 Fr.
If you paid 60 until now but are not planning on getting a new phone from them, you can ask them to reduce the price plan to 40 per month once your contract rolls over. As far as I know, they don't automatically reduce the price, you actually have to ask them.

Orange also do that now too, I'd have got cheaper line rental if I didn't take a new phone

Yet another way to screw the customer. First, they change the subsidies to almost zero. Then they'll screw you some more if you opt to get the 150 Fr. subsidy on your phone by adding 240 Fr. per year to your phone bill :-)
Apparently, it's a fact of life now that getting unsubsidized phones is cheaper on the long run.
