Want to buy a movie on I Tunes

But - they're all in German. It's really ridiculous. Does anyone know how I can buy a movie on I tunes in English! Would it help to take my laptop to the UK with me soon and buy from there?

It's quite frustrating!

If you have a UK credit card and address, you can register with the UK iTunes store...

Re: Want to buy a movie on I Tunes

Yeah I know. The comments under the movies were awash with criticism about that the last time I looked - mostly from Swiss people. I've also noticed that it's often a fair bit cheaper to buy the DVD from a bricks and mortar store. Ok not so convenient, especially on a Sunday but they always have an English soundtrack.

with a US or UK CC you can open a UK or US account, but the system chekcs your IP number so you need to use a rerouter.

What about people like me that don't have a credit card registered in those countries? Yes I can watch the movies in German with little problem, it's now my second language, but I always want to watch a movie in it's original language. Subtitles are infinitly more preferable than hearing a dubbed version.

Hi,

Hardly anyone (and that includes the majority of the Swiss natives, as well) here wants dubbed content. Apple doesn't seem to get it, though - or they simply don't care.

http://www.macprime.ch/umfragen/

Apart from that - please let Apple know that you'd like to buy original-language movies from them by leaving a comment here:

regards,

Peter

I use ITunes without hiding my IP address and all my details are from the UK.

Re: Want to buy a movie on I Tunes

ok here's a scenario.... ( which hasn't happened yet )
.
I'm in England
register an Itunes acct
on mrs. G's english CC ( mine are Swiss )
on an English WiFi.

would that get past all the bells and whistles ( apart from the bells I get when mrs. would see the movies I'm buyin' )

Re: Want to buy a movie on I Tunes

I live here in Switzerland. I've lived here for 10 years, am married to a Swiss person - all my cards are Swiss. I'm happy to watch movies in German if German is the original language. But there is no way in the world I'm going to purchase a movie I really want to see and watch it dubbed over in German. I can't stand dubbed films! I've left apple feedback - thanks for the link.

Re: Want to buy a movie on I Tunes

I am using a US itunes account. I don't have a US address nor credit card, so I use US itunes gift cards to add credit. I get my colleagues who travel there regularly to buy the gift cards, but you can also purchase them online. So far no problems.

I doubt Apple has any say in the matter. Prices and availability are determined by the movie studios.

iTunes doesn’t take any notice of IP. You can buy from any country, provided you have a CC registered to an address in that country.
