Cablecom HD media recorder, data transfer

Yep another CC issue, my box keeps falling over, the really helpful tech' support guy (he was) said a hard reset of the factory setting might cure it, but most likely the box will need to be swapped out, either option would lose all the data. There is a lot of stuff on it that hasn't been watched and he did say it is possible to transfer it to an external HDD, but they won't support it.

So, hypothetically, if someone had a friend, who knew someone who heard it from a mate... anyone have a link please or pm it to me.

Yes, please, I'd also be interested.

I'm only guessing here but I think you'll have to unscrew the media box, maybe you'll find an HDD there? I'd be happy to do the experiment tonight since within the last 6 months I've had two of them failing on me and they are both in my cellar

Did anyone come up with a way to do this?
