Bit confused here: your location is given as UK, where there must be many installers to be found in the Yellow pages (or equivalent), yet you're posting your question on the English Forum, Switzerland.

Have you moved to Switzerland and not changed your profile details?

Dave the Dish is your chap (EF member). He's based in/around Basel AFAIK, but I'm guessing he'd come over to Zurich.

Re: Sky

We got a quote from Dave the Dish and also a local installer. The local one was much cheaper, but they would only install and not supply the sky equipment (although they supplied the dish). Try the yellow pages in Ch!

Re: Sky

If it helps, I bought my dish etc from Amazon and bought it over. The whole things was 47.95 as I already had the box. Took 2 hours to set up as in the kit there is a finder/compass, wires etc
We would never have been able to do it without the wonderful post from Mark on how to do it
If you are still in the Uk and can bring one over I would order one from them

Re: Sky

We brought box and card from UK then purchased the correct size dish at an electrical store here and after an hour or so aligning the dish, hey presto we had all our channels, the dish needed to pick up sky is quite big, ours sits on our balcony easily though.

The below thread will help you, all the info you need:

Dummies Guide: Satellite install for free to air channels. No monthly fees - cheap

You would need to buy the UK viewing card in the UK! You can only buy UK cards with a UK address: copywrite issues.

Many towns and villages in Switzerland forbid any satellite dishes visble from the road. So don't buy anything until you are sure you can use it here. With a large south-east facing balcony, you might be able to set up an "invisible" dish on the balcony floor.

There is usually a TV cable supplier already in all the homes here, or sometimes the digital TV from Swisscom telephone is available, the network is still being installed. For 30 to 50 francs per month you can see all major UK channels here.

Combination packages are being offered TV-Phone-Internet. These are typically difficult to cancel, as you need to give the proper notice before your annual automatic renewal date.
