TV/Internet/Telephone

Dear all. We will soon be in Switzerland, moving from Deutschland, we are currently with Deutsch Telekom. I would like to know of whom to sign up with, with regards TV/Internet/Telephone. Been reading a few things on this forum, and not being too impressed, but hey, communication is key, so your recommendations are very welcome with a bit of inside information thrown in.

high speed internet for home use, wireless capability, usual TV with movie channels? I would like a dish however, not sure if our new place allows them. International rates from land line and cell phone plans....the whole enchilada....

Well you have two options, Cablecom or Swisscom. Why don't you vist the web sites for their full package "special offers". If you have further questions about a specific package, come back here and ask.

Re: TV/Internet/Telephone

What I've read about Swisscom is slow connection speeds and high tariffs, not so promising.

Well, Cablecom is excellent for speed and competitive tariffs but oh so lousy telephone customer service when something goes wrong. If you want Bleeding edge , go for Cablecom , if you want Swiss-style relaxed pace Internet, go for Swisscom.

Re: TV/Internet/Telephone

A word of warning, if you want a good selection of English TV channels and are moving to Swiss Romande, go with Swisscom. The Cablecom channel package sucks balls (or used to anyway, requires checking). Otherwise, as stated above, go for Cablecom for decent speed, but shitty customer service

I use Migros for personall calls, of which I make few. Most of my usage is Business/Sunrise

Migros seem to be fine, pay as you go, easy to top up, cheap txt's average overseas calling prices. There isn't much competition here, prices overall seem to be same for same.

We have a great selection of English channels on Cablecom... All of the major UK channels and others such as CNN/Nat Geog etc. We chose Cablecom for it's superior UK channel selection.

Luton on TV ??

Only when the fans riot.

I listen to them play on the Web/BBC Radio

Can't speak for Premiership teams, they are not worth supporting.

Re: TV/Internet/Telephone

Swisscom = bluechip/mainplayer/quality service/poorer value for money
Cablecom = young pretender/very poor service and reliability/massive headline speeds/better value for money.

If you can do it yourself and you have a sky card registered in the uk, youre in like flynn. Otherwise there is a yearly charge for dealing with the address issue.
