I popped into Mobile Zone last week to buy a Swiss SIM card so i wasn't spending a fortune on my UK contact mobile. I was expecting the cost to be around CHF 20, but to my surprise it was free!! Interdiscount offer the same SIM card for CHF 20. All i needed was my passport to confirm my ID and the card was activated.

The SIM also came with CHF 10 already on it, and 25 (i think) free texts per month. Not bad as a freebie.

Just thought i would share the news, as there seems to be a lot of trouble regarding contract phones and ridiculously long notice periods.

I didnt do any research as to who is the best service provider, but i have to say that i have no complaints so far.

I've got it with my prepaid Swisscom card. And also with my United Mobile card.
