Problems with Orange 3G

Curious if anyone else has had similar problems:

About 1-2 months ago I started having significant problems on my iPhone 3G and my UBS Internet Everywhere stick both through Orange. Essentially, when utilizing either for internet browsing, I would get online connection for 3 minutes and then it would loose response (fail to return data) for roughly 3 minutes. I would have to wait or disconnect the internet, unplug and start all over.

I went to the Orange store and the person was incredibly unhelpful and said their system was fine.

I then called customer service and spoke with a man from technical support who explained to me that Orange is in the process of increasing/revamping their 3G service, but cannot get enough antennae for all the demand - especially from handheld devices. He suggested I reset my network on my iPhone and download update software for my Internet Everywhere.

I tried both and neither work. I went back to the Orange store and was given a new SIM card, but that didn't work.

Is anyone else having the same or similar problems with Orange??? I asked a couple friends and they all reported it being fine.

SO FRUSTRATING!

Are you having problems in only one place (eg. at home) or is it happening everywhere you go? What is your signal strength when the problems happen?

It happens in any location. I've tried the Internet Everywhere stick in multiple locations in Geneva and the iPhone I've tried throughout Switzerland.

Hi,

Aren't the support staff in Orange just lovely (NOT) we took out a 18 month contract on Orange internet everywhere,a HP Mini netbook. After three days it crashed and has not worked since. I contacted Orange customer services who told us to take it into a shop despite it being an online purchase, the very useless guy in the shop then gave me the WRONG number for HP and sent me packing. No joy with HP so rang customer services again who told me to take it back in with the warranty and told me the shop would take it off me and send it off for repair, so off I went AGAIN and again they refused to take it off me.

So today I am trying to find an alternative way of contacting HP and if all that fails I will just pack it up send it back to Orange and refuse to pay the 59chf a month. Buyers beware! do not touch Orange they are utterly useless.

Hope you got your issues sorted with your internet. Or did you just go elsewhere??
