UPC Cablecom bill, but no contract

Hello,

today I received a bill from Sitel SA / UPC Cablecom for 90 CHF for three month of "Abonnement de base teleresau".
They even put in some "Service plus" for an additional 6 CHF.

I'm in this apartment since the first of March and the previous occupant had the wall plug sealed. I left everything as it is and never signed any contract with cablecom or sitel.

Tomorrow I will call and ask why should I pay, but do you think I should already do something more like writing a certified letter or contacting some consumer association ?
After reading around I fear this is the beginning of something the will never end...

First thing you do is ring them and talk to them.

Re: UPC Cablecom bill, but no contract

I had the same problem, but sending them an email with the photo of the sealed socket, a scan of the bill and a short description of my problem saved everything. Within half an hour I got a call apologizing...

Re: UPC Cablecom bill, but no contract

I called them this morning and they said they have to start the procedure to close the connection, since to them it is open.
During this procedure they will check if the plug was already sealed and otherwise send a technician to seal it.

I gave them the number on the sealing and they annotated it, along with the request.

I insisted on the fact that I never opened anything, so there was nothing to close, but I met the bureaucracy wall of "We Need To Follow the Procedure".

I'll let you know what happens next...

Re: UPC Cablecom bill, but no contract

Should be fine. When we moved in, our landlord had (genuinely trying to be helpful) set us up an account with Sitel Cable for TV. We never used it as we had a satellite dish, and the first we knew about it was a few months' later when the first bill arrived.

It was no problem. They cancelled off the bill, and sent a man round to seal up the plugs. Haven't heard another thing from them in over 3 years.

Bit of a thread resurrection, I know..

I had the same "facture" arrive this week.

After a bit of muttering to myself and half hour on google translate, I called Cablecom and spoke to an adorable girl and between my dodgy french and her not so lame english, she cancelled it over the phone.

The End
