Still getting Swisscom Mobile bills 12 months after cancelling contract!!!!!

When I moved to Zurich in 2009 I got my mobile phone contract thru Swisscom. Everything went ok until I got a new job in Hong Kong and moved there.

I went into the Swisscom shop and explained that I was leaving Zurich and I wanted to cancel my mobile contract with them. The person I talked to was very helpful and I was assured they had cancelled my contract & that all I would have to pay was the current months bill when it came.

I happily moved to Hong Kong and didnt think any more of it. 3 months into living in HK I was still getting bills from Swisscom. I rang them and talked to someone on the phone and after a bit of fluffing around they assured my that my contract was cancelled and to ignore the bills and that I would not receive any more. 6 months down the track I was still receiving bills from them. So I rang them again and again after 9 months and was assured each time that it had been sorted.

12 months down the track I am still receiving bills from them. They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I would recommend staying as far away from them as possible.

I have nothing good to say about them at all and hope that if you have just moved to Switzerland and are looking for information on Mobile Phone contracts you read this and give your business to some other mobile company!!!!!

That's why it's always better not to make a contract and to buy a prepaid simcard.

I hope you find a solution soon!

I had a contract with Swisscom, broke it early because I left Swissieland, gave notice in writing and included a copy of my deregistration (Abmeldung) from the commune (Gemeinde), received a nice confirmation letter to my new (non-Swiss) address and a phone call suggesting I switch to a pre-paid deal (for free) to keep my phone number, and all was well.

So ... from my side ... no complaints about Swisscom. YMMV and apparently it does.
