Yes, it is possible. You need a clear line of sight to Astra 28.2E and a dish that's big enough. I know several people using an 80cm in Zürich and get good reception, so I would assume an 85 in Baden would also be OK.

yes I have it working in Glarus with a 90cm dish. takes a hell of a lot of fine tuning, without a sat finder you don't stand a chance of just 'lucking' into it.

Maybe some information on how it isn't working would be helpful? Otherwise, you can also search this forum for freesat and that should help you figure out what to do next - worked for me.

And you can rent the sat finder from Hornbach.

You may be able to Google a site where it is possible to enter your
location - GPS - by quoting your postal address and you will be directed for the details on a particular satellite of your choice. These little things will place you more firmly to get about the other technical details I guess.

http://www.dishpointer.com/ is your friend, just enter your address and select 28.2E and you can see the direction the dish should be pointing at (and if there are any obstacles in the way).

A Satmeter (even a cheap one) is essential in my experience, especially with dishes >60cm

Honestly, just pay someone to set it up.

It will cost a couple of hundred Franks, and then it's done.

I set up satellite dishes for a living (but not domestic), and I paid an antenna installer to mount my antenna and line it up.

You'll appreciate the minimal cost the first time that it rains, and your signal doesn't dissolve to mush.

Lining up dishes with a hired meter, that you're unfamiliar with, is not fun.

What does this mean?? So you have a dish. Did a previous box work with this dish? Is it lined up? You'll need to supply a lot more than 'it doesn't work' to get a worthwhile response...
