I will be moving to Lausanne in August. I already have an apartment and it is cabled. The first thing I will need when I arrive will be an internet connection. For the last 2 days I have been trying to connect to upc-cablecom.ch from my home in Canada. I tried from different computers and different browsers. Nothing works. Can someone tell me what is going on?

Quebecman... I feel your pain, I'm having the same problem from Ireland

The upc-cablecom web site is working just fine within Switzerland but it is not accessible from Ireland, from Canada and from the USA.

Why an Internet Service Provider would choose to make its website unavailable outside its borders is beyond me...

Maybe they don't want to handle extra traffic from abroad ...

What you can do is to use a proxy server somewhere in Switzerland. (Even EU does not work, as I have a server in Netherlands, and I tried: no luck).
