Prepaid plan that works in France/Suisse/Italy

Hello,

I'm doing the UTMB in august. One of the mandatory equipment is that I must have a mobile phone that works in the three countries specifically the border towns: Chamonix, Trient, La Fouly, Courmayer (Italy), Vallorcine. Is there a prepaid plan that works for these towns ? Orange perhaps ?

Thanks

The dude

I have prepaid with sunrise and it works in France, Switzerland, Italy and other European countries. Don't know about your specific towns though.

I have Orange (thru' Coop Mobile). I've only had need to use it in UK and DE - but no problems. I don't think there's any reason why it can't function in the locations you've given - providing it can physically pick up a signal, if in mountainous areas.

The rate per minute, obviously increases - but notification by SMS of other network rates are normally received, when out of "normal/usual" suppliers area of coverage.
You should ensure you have loaded sufficient credit, and have the ability to add to this remotely, if needed, when away (should be possible with all major networks).

It is a good idea to consider a prepaid (cheap) phone, as you have, in case of loss or damage. I got mine with Coop points, and top it up with same, so it doesn't directly cost me a bean.
